Hong Kong Day 7 and 8

Hong Kong

Day 7: This city was mostly Americanized, but also British. The drivers drove on the left side of the road and the passenger seat was on the left side as well! This was very interesting for us because we drive on the right side of the road and the passenger seat is on the right side of the car.  Here, the residents speak Cantonese. It was a very beautiful island with such blue waters. Right after we arrived at the airport we went to the U.S. embassy where two men from different departments of the embassy, talked about their careers and their life in china. They both talked about the advantages and disadvantages of living in a foreign country in regards of health insurance, income, and family. I like the way they could relate to us, being Americans, and wanting to share that with the rest of the world.

Day 8:  This was the day Kelly brought us to the market in Hong Kong where we could buy souvenirs, and buy scarves, shirts, candy, and even suitcases! I bought a little tea set to have at home and a couple of hats and shirts. We made new friends while visiting Hong Kong. After this we went on a cruise where everyone enjoyed the food and the live music. We got the opportunity to dance the "Macarena" and other fun songs as well. This was a fun night!
